It will be necessary to relieve the area in the photo below - beneath the battery bay so you can install the intake tube. Click on the picture for a larger view.
Suggested installation and assembly tips for the tube kits - PN TKCF16 and TKWf16:
Sand areas to be glued with 120 grit sandpaper.
Remember to work neatly - you don't want to interupt laminar flow.
When gluing the halves of both the intake tube and thrust tube together I might suggest hot glue it seems to act as a shock absorber and the beauty of it is its tough, resilient and can be removed and redone if you need to.
Tape the intake tube together around the fan unit and create overlap of halves, mark with a sharpie and spot glue.
Tape the front end of intake so it fits inside the bottom fuselage/intake cover and mark with a sharpie.
Glue the rest of the seam together working with your previous mark at the front end of the intake tube in mind. Repeat with the opposite seam.
While gluing along the seam you might use a long stick to apply inside pressure.
When gluing the intake to foam I suggest that you space your longitudinal glue lines about ½ to Ύ apart. This will help to prevent collapse when full throttle is applied. You will also have to decide how you are going to secure the top of the intake to the bottom of the main fuse. I suggest glue at the front end under the cockpit but this depends on your method of installation.
Another method might be to use spots of Gorilla Glue instead of lines.
If using the new white Gorilla Glue, use it sparingly just enough to get the job done - it does expand but not as much as the dark Gorilla glue.
As technique improves and builders input continues this tips section will be improved.
